What I liked:

  • The snapshot to freeze objects mechanic was really neat.
  • The art style has that hand-drawn feel which I not only like, but been wanting to experiment with lately.
  • I felt like the puzzle were definitely thought out.

Suggestions / Questions

  • Personally, I'm not completely sold on the red and black colors. Something less aggressive, especially since your music has this passive feel.
  • I made this comment a lot in my last game jam, but my opinion hasn't really changed. I really feel like player's should have a minimum of three lives. The first life is always consumed by my attempt to get the feel for a level and the difficulty. The other two are for actually playing through it. Immediate death can be frustrating and cause a player to give up immediately.
  • Did gathering hearts do something that I didn't notice, or were they part of something that got scrapped or not implemented?

Overall, its a really cool entry and looks really good. I like the concept of freezing obstacles to navigate your way through difficult areas. Congrats on completing and submitting your game!

Thank you very much for playing and the awesome feedback! Glad you liked the mechanic and art style :D

Any thoughts on a better color combination, totally understand what you mean though, the game was definitely more slower paced and not as intense. Three lives would have been a good idea as well, I tried to add lots of checkpoints but I think I struggled to find a good balance there as well. Will keep this in mind next time! Didnt get to finish the hearts implementation, I was going for the collect all achievement! Thanks again for the comment :)

No problem! Good feedback makes us all better. As for color combination, I believe I was thinking a dark blue and a really light blue at the time I wrote my comment. I'm not an artist, but what about these colors: #2a537a  and #091235
