I love this concept! I had the same issues with the gear puzzle noted below, but up till then everything felt very intuitive. I think giving a little pop up just saying "hey, hover to get a tip, click to interact, and drag to use" would be helpful. Also, giving a background to the sprites so they aren't just line art will help them from getting lost on screen if you use them in the wrong spot (which kinda happened when I was trying to figure out the gears before I saw it wasn't just me)
