I like the idea of the wand being a line, though it felt really underpowered, and the upgrades felt underwhelming. I think I would've liked it better if I could feel each upgrade

Agree, it’s what I managed to do in 3h. Initial idea was a Binding of Isaac style of game where you will be able to mix different upgrades together, like having that beam of light that would look like thunder and add to it a fire effect that will get you more damages and a different visual, or water effect that will push enemies, etc.
