Hi! Just played your game. Here is some comments/feedback:
- Asteroids are visually really cool looking. Definitely the best visual asset in the game. When asteroids are coming from multiple directions it really gives the feeling of danger
- The gameplay concept was nice and the theme was included. The game lends itself very well to highscoring and I could also see this as mobile game. Well done!
- As CodeRedYT also pointed out, I felt that the best strategy is to just surround the game with the magnets as shields which kind of takes off the point of them being magnets. On possibility for changing the rules of the game to drive player towards different strategies would be that when asteroid hits a magnet it also creates splash damage to nearby magnets or the earth if close enough. That would give the player the incentive to be more careful about where to put the magnets and to not put them immediately next to earth. If the point of the red growing area was to work to prevent this kind of situation, I would suggest that it starts already in a position that the magnets cannot be right on the planet or at least that it rises more quickly.
- The choices between the magnets felt bit arbitrary. I did not know any reason to take one magnet instead of another one so I just used the most expensive ones until I ran out of money. Then I realized that the cheap ones can easily be used as shields and then I just started using those all the time. If you would like to add more option for the market choices to add the strategic depth in the game you could consider having magnets with different abilities in addition to different strength. To just throw some ideas: there could be repelling magnets that push small asteroids away (and slows down larger one) or magnets that explode when they hit with an asteroid, immediately destroying all nearby asteroids & magnets.
- The character felt pretty hard to control. Especially on the air I felt that I could not really control the character at all, but it seemed to answer to all key presses pretty randomly. Not sure if I missed something with the instructions or if there was really something wrong with the controls.
- Also, speaking of the instructions. After reading the tutorial texts trough there was no button to get back to beginning or start the game but I had to scroll back using the Backwards button. It did not feel very user friendly but it's obviously just a small thing.
Please consider trying out my game as well! If you end up playing it, I would really appreciate if you could write even a short comment about what you liked and/or considered to need improvement.
