Install the game in an empty folder that usually fixes things like that also really old saves may be broken so try a new save failing that (hah edit: my reading comprehension is bad just install the game in a new folder it should work.)
I believe for this playthrough i did move it to a new location. i also did start a new save for it. between long periods of not playing a game, i always start a new playthrough :3
