I see this game as a light horror adventure game, a bit of a walking simulator. I have mixed feelings about it.
The good:
- Nice choice of graphics and music
- Although some of the quests were a little challenging to figure out (for the wrong reasons, I might add), they never stumped me for long
- It's a reasonable length: not too long, but not too short either
The bad:
- Gameplay feels a little awkward. For example, a ghost tells me to pick up a book. The book is in the same room on a table (no challenge or exploration), there's nothing to indicate that I've picked the book up aside from the book disappearing from the map, and there's no prompt that tells me I need to deliver the book back to the ghost.
- Instant game overs are not great, especially when that means you have to start from the beginning again because you didn't think you needed to save.
- Some events seem to expect the player to go to certain locations in a certain order even though they can be visited out of order. For example, I made a key, and the character said "now I can unlock that chest in the other room!" I had never visited the room that had the chest, so the comment didn't make sense to me.
So it's a decent game. It's not overly difficult, but has some room for improvement.
