I like Pokemon, and I like Inscryption, so of course I had to download this. As I expected, this was quite fun.
After getting past the hook, the game keeps focus by offering tons of choices, allowing for plenty of customization. The gameplay is set to hard mode, and it took me about 12h to grind into the endgame. At the same time, the game is forgiving. Make a bad choice? It's possible to raise a worthy card with another 1-2 laps aound the outskirts. This game is great at getting the player into the "zone", since most choices will feel like taking a great step forward.
Music was well-chosen and fit the situations. Loved it. I can't imagine any complaints, except from lawyers stewing over copyrights.
But I did have a few gripes. The only "big" problem might be the lack of plot. No Team Rocket or anything, and certainly no mind screws like the original Inscryption. Just cruising through Kyoumu. Not that I minded too much; I had my own little dramatic journey just trying to prevail.
As for gameplay, I was unfortunately unable to adjust my berry ratios, as the decrease button and scroll wheels weren't really working for me (although I did manage to decrease my berries by 1, but...). I also wasn't 100% certain on how the Tribute mechanic worked at first, but I soon realized that the game tracked who was sacrificed and who got the benefit by looking at the top border. And there's definitely grinding (I can't imagine a no Outskirt run).
This is definitely enjoyable, and I can see myself playing this again in the future. Very nice!
