Love the character design for the player and the enemy. Can see that you had some ideas, but didn't have the time to get them implemented. One thing you could try for your next jam is a "boxes and circles prototype" where you use basic shapes to get the game working, *then* add the art. Would love to see where you wanted the game to go.
