If I got an unlucky roll, the game became bullet hell right at the start, and I wasn't quick or precise enough to dodge all their shots.
Also, not being able to heal easily. I did get an "Extra Hearts" die, but only once.
Maybe adding difficulty levels, with more lives and/or health in the easier settings, would make the game more accessible for noobs like me. :P
