Thank you so much for playing! The spider does randomly relocate each time you run into him on a stage, but the flies return to their previous capture points so they can be retrieved from the same spot. Definitely should make that more clear with some additional messaging/tutorialization, so thanks for calling that out. Really appreciate the time and feedback :)
