How does your game fit the theme?
The player must move in the dark through a randomized stage which makes each move a calculated risk. You rescue flies by collecting them and returning them to the center of the web, but a spider can reset your progress if you run into them. Do you risk trying to save one more fly when the spider might be around the corner?

The game is simple but really aesthetic and interesting. It also really makes you think. It doesn't fully incorporate a dice theme which in my opinion is a strong point. Good job!

Thank you so much for your time and feedback! Really appreciate you playing :)

Great game :)

I really liked the graphics!
And the procedural generation works well.

I think it could be a really fun game with some more level layouts/enemies as you progress.

I really enjoyed this game! The art is very pretty, the gameplay is simple, and the idea is great. I can see this game transforming into a multi level one, with different power-ups/added habilities/enemies <3

I think the randomness of the locations and paths make sense with the theme; I wonder if you were shown where the spider starts, but can't see where it moves, then there would be more strategy to the movement, e.g. a risk / reward for moving along certain paths with only one exit.

Cohesive and pleasant visuals. The art and animation are pleasant enough to make me forget I'm not a huge fan of spiders.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for the clear, concise feedback. I had planned to add a mechanic where each time you returned to the middle, you could see where the spider was hiding but that he would relocate once revealed, so at least you would know that area would be safe to venture into next time you head out. Would love to expand on the mechanics in the way you described moving forward. Really appreciate your time and ideas!

Cool game! Love the aesthetics, very appealing visually. I appreciate that you didn't interpret the theme in a literal sense. The game could definitely use some music or sound, and I did wish at times that there was a way to fight back against the spider, perhaps by quickly reacting and clicking on it to relocate it.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Definitely only skipped the sound due to scope, and would love to expand on the mechanics in the way you described in the future. Appreciate the time and the great feedback :)

Oh no I hate spiders!!

I really liked the look of this game! Very well done in the art department. Also gave it a bit of a chilling atmosphere as you dart around looking for flies. Interesting take on the theme (and kinda refreshing not seeing something with "dice" in it). I was able to win a few rounds, though I was slightly confused on whether the spider stays just on one spot, or if it moves around during the round. The only time I noticed it was when I got caught.

Very nice though and well done on this game!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! The spider does randomly relocate each time you run into him on a stage, but the flies return to their previous capture points so they can be retrieved from the same spot. Definitely should make that more clear with some additional messaging/tutorialization, so thanks for calling that out. Really appreciate the time and feedback :)

I really liked the aesthetic of this one. While the gameplay might have been simple, it was compelling enough to keep me trying again.

Beautiful game!

Super cool aesthetic and your take on the theme is really creative. Definitely feel the threat of the spider waiting around the corner.

Only minor thing is sometimes I can see the shape of the spider when the player's glow moves by.. Also, there are nodes connecting to the outside of the web edge which don't go anywhere.

Overall, great job!

Developer

Thanks so much for checking it out! Really appreciate it. Was definitely tough to keep the the spider properly sized to prevent it from being seen in all cases. While the shape of the web does change each stage (with some strands turning on when others turn off), there's always meant to be hidden paths to outer ring nodes that seem inaccessible (or at least that was the intent when building it). Hoverer, it's equally possible that there's a bug in the web randomization that's preventing that from working properly, so thank you for surfacing that.

Really grateful for your time and feedback!

That's all just polish stuff. And we only get 48 hrs, so there's always gonna be some bugs (ba dum tss).

Really well executed! It blows my mind that people can create this kind of art within the time frame! I guess that's why I'm strictly a programmer! Nice work!

Developer

Thanks so much! And I'm sure you could program circles around me as I'm still pretty new to it. Really appreciate the time and the feedback :)

Pretty art, the game concept is simple yet efficient. I could not hear any audio from the web version of the game though. I think the idea could have gotten a little more developed. Maybe more variation or something to keep it enticing. An example of this would be if the web's layout shifted or some links broke, so you need to take a longer, riskier path. I liked the idea though, great job getting it done in such a short time.

Thanks so much for checking it out! And good call about adding more variation, it's something I would love to do in the future (definitely had to reduce scope due to the time crunch). The web does change layout when you load in a new stage but I should definitely make that a more explicit mechanic, possibly even allowing the player to change the web's configuration themselves at certain points. I really appreciate your time and feedback :)

Of course, glad I was able to help! Again awesome job mate, you should be proud!
