Hi, congratulations on finishing a game! Now, I didn't play very far, because I've encountered a game breaking bug, but I might try it again later and finish it.

The game breaking bug in question was with the starting skill of the blond guy, when I used it, it never started and the game kept saying that an animation file is missing. I've played the web version, might be the cause of it.

I can't really critique combat much, but it seemed to be setup nicely. It was particularly interesting to see you use small numbers for HP and Damage, which fit the game nicely. The Backstab skill had a great action sequence set up, though the default Attack command doesn't have one for some reason.

Now, on to other parts of the game. You've significantly improved at mapping interiors since I saw the first screenshots of your game!  About the only things I can point out is that in the Inn area, the fireplace should be moved up one tile and the wall blocking the entrance to the room in the upper right corner would be better off removed. It's nice to see that you can interact with so many things in the village, there's nothing too significant about it, but it does add something to it that makes the experience feel more polished. I liked how you had to gather your character's things to progress and the things were actually physical objects in the game world like a pouch of gold or red and blue potions.

Story is basically just there to get you to fight dragons, but there's nothing that detracts from the experience. About the only thing I'd suggest is to work on your "cutscenes" some more. At the start, when the MC is sleeping in their bed, it would be better to switch them to their "damage sprite" (the one where they are face down on the ground), while the Zzz baloon icon plays above them, then switch to the normal icon and make them jump in place with an Exclamation Mark baloon icon to simulate them just waking up. It would also be better to see the dream they had or atleast have it described.

The cutscene with the friends should also have the friends show up on the map before they join the party, right now it seems like the MC is talking to the priest next to his house. And that cutscene where the village gets burned needs something more too. You have the fire sound effect, but atleast there could be a Show Animation on the village tile with one of the default Fire Spell animations (Fire 2 could work), ideally have either the Dragon sprite show up there or atleast Show image a smaller version of the dragon battler on screen. Just some ideas. And maybe you can have the village appear as burning on the world map too, withj the same fire animation you use inside the burned village. By the way, the fact that you can go back and see the damage is great. Maybe add some items there after the fact to reward exploration.

The island on the overland map is basically one big rectangle and that makes it seem pretty artificial, but it's not a big deal.

Right now, I'd suggest you to focus on playtesting your game, especially the web version, and focus on fixing whatever bugs you find and post a new, fixed version, you can do it right now if you want.

Congratulations on finishing a game on time! :) Keep making games and improving!

Thank you so much for all the advice and info!

I will go over it more later as I am leaving for a trip very soon. I am pretty sure I did fix the bug however and post up a new Windows build and web version! Thank you so much!
