First of all, my condolences for what happened to your beloved. Irrespective of the review, the fact that you took the time to honor the memory of someone's passing with this game is respectable.
Now, this game is one of the nicest entries I've played. Its surprisingly innocent and gets super grim at the end. You relive the moments of your life before you pass and the moments, the people who supported you and more. The dialogue does seem a bit milktoast niceties for the most part but it gets its conveyance of love and acceptance well enough.
The slow mood actually fits the game, which helps to create and evoke a powerful buildup to the end.
The input mechanics are a bit on the hard side since its hard to see the grey in the dark and you also have a timer involved in it. Once I got a better wind of the controls, its much more bearable.
The ending really hits you a lot despite all the niceties. Like wow. I can't help but feel like you hit that emotional cord with this game and the powerful essence of loss with it. Its commendable.
Other than that, the presentation fits well enough and the overall gameplay isn't complex but this sort of entry doesn't need such complexities. It presents its tale and the journey enough to have me resonate with its characters, and for me it works.
Well done.
