I love the Dev's other work but I can't play this game if it doesn't have background music. It's a huge dealbreaker for me. Hoping it'll receive an update that adds it sometime soon but I'm not holding my breath seeing as V1.0 has been out for over 2 and a half years.

Yeah  that sucks tho. But there'll be no more updates. The game is finished and I've reached till the end! So u don't have to wait for any further updates i guess.

Could just find some nice background music online like YT or Spotify. That's what I did.

Artist's intent is very important with BGM, especially in videogames. Using random BGM can hugely affect the mood in a negative way, making a scene feel humorous when it's not, for example.
