I liked the initial set up with getting your characters in the kidnapping situation, but I think I softlocked my game when I went to the level up screen because no key would let me leave the menus. The intro dialogue is also a little bit repetitive, it was a cool premise, but exposition dumps can be tedious for players.

Thanks! I'm surprised the level up screen resulted in a soft lock though. I'm using rpg maker 2k3 so the only keys in use are the directional arrows and "enter" and highly conditional "cancel" commands, so I designed the screen with only those inputs in mind. The exit option should be at the bottom left of the screen with then further options to either go to the next character or exit entirely. I'm glad you liked the premise though!
