I like the idea! Waiting for the shield to be hit before you can move it's a bit frustrating, cause sometimes is pretty random. To solve this it can reload after a while or maybe it can pull in nearby projectiles. 

Visuals and particle effects are very cool!

Originally I wanted there to be three shields that could be placed, each with its own cooldown. Allowing either strategy or reactive playstyle. However, the time constraints of the development led to the game as it is.  After the game jam ends, I think might improve the game. I like the pull-in projectile idea.
