Nice platformer for your first gamejam! Congratulations! I was unable to finish it because I lack inhuman reflexes that are required to play this game. Did you forget to use delta time in your movement mechanics? ;-)

Thank you and probably since this is the first time I've ever heard of delta time as I am still relatively new to making games.

Delta time is the time between frames. It is required for any change, like movement, to be constant between computers of different performance. If you don't take it into account in your main game loop you make the game go as fast as the computer is able to. That results in different speeds across different computers. Nonetheless, as a newbe You should be proud of yourself. We learn by making mistakes.
