It took some time to figure out the timing on the gun, and sometimes it felt like there weren't enough enemies. But I had a good time.
Yeah the enemies are mostly randomized so there is a small chance that the run is just doomed from the start, but most of the time it works! It helps to remember that you can shoot enemies off screen.
