You're not playing as yourself, you're playing as a woman and she is referred to as such. You're simply an observer beyond the fourth wall. She is not you, you are not her
My guess would be that the "you wake up in a mansion" was written this way in order to help you immerse better in the story, similar to a roleplay scenario. You're like an observer in her brain, observing and influencing some of her choices through her eyes.
