Thanks for reporting this. I did some searching and I couldn't find any obvious solution. I know at least one guy managed to play the linux version from the NewGrounds comments. But I have no way of replicating this issue on my end so I can't really give you a solution. I'll keep looking around though.
I did see that there's this software called "Wine" that lets you run the windows versions of RPGMaker MV/MZ on linux.
And a post in F95zone talking about something similar.

Again, since I can't test these I don't know how they work or if they work. You're probably better off asking in linux related communities.
I'll try reuploading the file and see if that changes anything. I'll let you know.
