Thank you. I’m glad you were able to understand the story and context of it. Honestly, I was more worried about the writing cause I didn’t have a lot of gameplay to distract from it.

And you are absolutely correct. I could have made this in Renpy as well but I really wanted to give RPGMaker a try, at least once. If I continue working on this project in the future, I’ll experiment on RPGMaker a bit more and then practice in Renpy and see which of the two I will continue with.

The other reason why I wanted to use RPGMaker was because I believed it would be the best way (and possibly the easiest way) to show the city getting built around him and making newer escape routes.

But I completely understand. I’ll do more research on RPGMaker and find a more interesting gameplay loop outside of the cutscenes. If not I’ll have to find another game engine to continue this on.
