I played it with my D&D playgroup (who have little to no fighting game experience) and we had a lot of fun. But as my group is a group of power gamers, we noticed two things that we collectively found problematic.
First is the High-Speed specialization, which can be used with Engage or Charge to max out hope whenever you want.
Second is the Heaven Buster, which is generally quite challenging to beat and in our game one of the players added the summoned specialization to it such that it had range 2. This made it almost impossible to beat and was generally considered unfun.
Finally, the win rates of our matches made it seem like Bastard was very good (5/5 wins), while Battle Witch seemed lacking (0/4 wins). These could also be because of luck or skill, but I generally think that Bastard might be a little too oppressing for opponents since it can quickly lower the opponent's hope and gain an advantage.
Overall it was a lot of fun, but I do think that the High-Speed specialization and the Heaven Buster should be altered.
