Here’s an update on my project in which I work through an idea I’ve got about using an unreliable main NPC.

Came up with some place names today.

Today, I started work on my wandering monster lists.

Today, I created a first draft of an "enlightened animal" template.

Today, I flesh out my idea of Impending Doom a bit more.

I filled out another entry on my wandering creature table.

Late today but I snuck it in! Today I worked on Landmarks, Clues, and Secrets.

Started working a bit on the factions.

Today I updated some hex icons and added a couple for use in my hexmap.

Here's the sum of my last three days of agonizing over wilderness mechanics.

I like it. Simple and understandable. I always struggled trying to come up with satisfying wilderness mechanics. I planned to share a procedure on my blog but ended up just posting about more or less vague advice because in the end I didn't like what came up.

it’s so easy to twist yourself into pretzels trying to come up with something.

Populated some hexes on stream today.

Sorry I haven't been updating here of late but it's not because I haven't been doing anything! I've been hosting some streams (about once per week) where I've worked on things and talked about them live on camera. The latest one is here (from last week I think).
