That's weird. I have never had an RPG Maker MZ just switch to auto without concent...And no, you don't need to lose battles to gain corruption. You gain it by defeating the big shades and absorbing the crystal (destroy them to go pure).
It apppears to happen when I combat the blue winged shadows. Could it be that something else is going that makes it seem to me like that?When it happens, the game typically ignores the Esc- key up to some point, and then I can attack manually again.
Weird. Don't think I know of a fix for it... Will try to investigate
that's not auto battle, it's their taunt ability. They can force you to attack them
