I feel like this suffers from a common pitfall of one-button games in general: you do better by hammering that one button constantly than by thinking about when to press it. Having fewer sawblades but laying them out in such a way that the player has to plan ahead would make for a more interesting game. As it is, I'm not convinced I can actually avoid all of them in the first place, and the easiest way to avoid losing speed is to simply mash the space bar to hop over the ones I inevitably hit. It doesn't help that I had to have one hand on my volume control to hear the voices and not be deafened by the sound effects! That said, this is a top-notch take on the theme and it's got a whole lot of character. I'm totally blown away by the cutscenes! I'd happily watch something of this quality as an animation so the fact it's just in there to add story to a jam game is hugely impressive.

Thanks For the Feedback! I think if I had more time, The game would definitely more levels and a Lot more precise gameplay, I’m glad that you liked the cutscenes because the cutscenes and the main character art were the main parts that I had took my time on for this game jam. I am working on another game that has a Lot more gameplay and more than just one button so That’s being improved on ☺️

But Thank you Very Much and I’m glad you enjoyed the story and the art!! ;)😉

And if you would want to watch the cutscenes rather than play, Here’s the link to it on Newgrounds:https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/873384

There’s also a Lot more animations that I have made that are the same Notch as the cutscenes on my Newgrounds account👍
