This is a horror game, and it sounds like you did not trigger the ending. You must interact with the TV, the game, the radio, then follow the audio prompts and walk back towards the room sometime after answering the phone when it rings. There is some waiting period between the autio prompts, as I did not want to force the ending to happen too early.
