I was using google chrome. It happens as soon as I hit the "play on itch.io" this happened to me with one other person that had their game made in the same engine as you. So maybe it's just me?
Yeah, it might be an issue on your side I think, as I designed it on Chrome and I had 2 of my friends playtest it from the game page, one was using Chrome and one was using Safari, and it worked fine for them. It's a shame you have to miss out! :(
