I really like the art, animation and time pressure. I also like the limited spots for buildings, this requires strategic planning. The fast forward button is really nice. I noticed you mentioned this in the Tips section. However, I still found it sometimes frustrating that I couldn't build buildings from a previous age. Story and strategic wise it make sense. Also it felt annoying to almost reach the end and spend all my resources, to then find myself lacking wood resources.

For me it would be more fun when later ages do not require wood and stone resources OR to know what is required in the future. Overall I find the game really polished.

Thank you!
I understand all of the things you mentioned, but just like you're saying, it has to do with the strategy as well as the story. I think it's important that old resources are needed even in the later ages to force the player to stack up on them and manage them more wisely.
Not sure how I could let the player know what they need in the future - giving them a list of resource-amounts would make it a bit too easy :P.
