I'm not really sure what the difference between the versions is. It's pretty expensive normally (like, over $100), but it goes on sale for, like somewhere around $20 or $30-something, so I'd suggest waiting for a sale if you are going to get it. It's pretty limited, but is an easy way to make RPG games specifically. You can put in as many custom sprites and sounds as you want. It's mostly code-free, but it is possible to make plugins in Javascript that improve or change things. For instance, I used a plugin that lets you move around freely in all directions, since you can normally only move in 4 directions within a grid. There are lots of plugins that people have made that you can find online.
