How does your game fit the theme?
The beginning of the game starts at the end of the traditional RPG story.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No. I used RPG Maker MV's built-in assets as well as the "Altimit Movement" plugin and another plugin for adding an "exit game" option. Everything else was made by me.

Very funny take on what a hero does at the end of their journey - nicely done!

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked my humour.

It's amazing that you can put this together in a week! I have never heard of RPG maker and will check it out. How does it work? Can you add your own sprites and code, or can you only add the dialogue? Is it this website? https://www.rpgmakerweb.com

Thanks! Yes, that's their website. It's also available on Steam. There are a bunch of different versions sold as separate programs. The one I have is RPG Maker MV. I'm not really sure what the difference between the versions is. It's pretty expensive normally (like, over $100), but it goes on sale for, like somewhere around $20 or $30-something, so I'd suggest waiting for a sale if you are going to get it. It's pretty limited, but is an easy way to make RPG games specifically. You can put in as many custom sprites and sounds as you want. It's mostly code-free, but it is possible to make plugins in Javascript that improve or change things. For instance, I used a plugin that lets you move around freely in all directions, since you can normally only move in 4 directions within a grid. There are lots of plugins that people have made that you can find online.

I liked some of the jokes and the idea was cool, most of my issues were issues that come from RPGmaker itself so I don't really have any comments

Thanks!

The story was so unique, had me laughing and smiling a few times !

I'm not really into classical RPG games so I don't have much to give as a constructive feedback, but I still had a lot of fun with this entry, well done !

Developer

Thanks! I actually don't really play classical RPGs either, honestly (unless you count the Paper Mario or Mario & Luigi games). I'd consider this game to be closer to a point-and-click adventure game in the style of an RPG. I mainly chose RPG Maker because it was fast and easy to work with and an RPG fit the theme of my idea.

Great game bro!, it's sad cause the player is now npc (except you can playable as villain or whatever what)

This is a cool game. I like all the subtle jokes about RPG games and the dialogue. I really like this interpretation of the theme, it was pretty fun to have an rpg with no challenge whatsoever because I collected all 900 Pinecones. The only critique I'd give is to add the option to go back and use the npc stone thingy if you decide not to at first.

Thanks! It is possible to save before you enter the end cutscene and then load your save after so you can easily try both options, but I admit that it's not very clear that you can do that. Also, nice ProZD reference.

This does not fit the theme very well.
