Your apartment burns down, the hotel miraculously has all its rooms filled, the day after your booking ends. He's just pipped at the post to get an apartment, every apartment in the whole city is full (never ever seen that, and I have stayed in cities all over the world!). That's what I mean by convoluted! This is why I gave my much more immersive and simpler way of getting to meet your ex and her daughter!

you've obviously travelled budget/off-season. shit all over the world often gets completely booked out even in non-tourist cities. hmm, especially in non-tourist cities.

Don't assume, because you're wrong, but in any case, if a city is full, wouldn't the budget apartments go first? And you don't really have off seasons on cities, only in beach tourist areas... Think before you comment.

god or nature, doesnt matter which, gave me a Brain that has two very specific purposes.
to make assumptions and judgements.i choose to  use my brain.
just as i assumed you're a cheaparse off-season traveller, i also judge you to be incompetent - cities DO have travel seasons just like every other destination, sincerely, dude who has worked in admissions in a big city hotel, and had to find other work during off-season.

Either way. My reality beats your assumption, but none of this changes the lack of updates, and bad storytelling!

updates are regular, and tell me, which formula did you use to calculate the "bad" of the story telling?
cos i used triggernometry and the answer is actually yo momma.

Semantics! You realize it's a **GAME** right? Not your alter ego, that couldn't get a hotel room...lol

Having to run around smashing one's head into bricks to get money and eating fungi to grow up and flowers to breathe fire is pretty convoluted as well... That said, Mario turned out to be a great **GAME** didn't it!? lol
