Saw that there wasn’t any responses here, so I thought I’d write one! Me and a friend played a session of this game and haven’t reached the second season yet, but we’ve had a blast playing the game so far! I love how the map itself is used as another way of storytelling alongside the traditional method of roleplay. The graphic and layout of the rulebook is gorgeous, the mechanics are clever and great at generating stories, and I love how miscommunication is incorporated as a part of the game.

My only criticisms are on some rules that aren’t quite clarified. For example, are you allowed to tell the other players about the Form Memory scene you’re drawing on the map, or is that left unexplained? We also weren’t sure when to move to the next season (was it after all the cards in the suit were used?).

Aside from this, it was overall a great experience, and I think this is a very charming game!

this is a great joy to hear! While I know people play my games, rarely do I get a word back, so this is just wonderful :)

To answer your questions, you always tell each other your turns, but they don’t have to give away everything about your creatures, just hint at parts to them. Additionally, if you do give something big away, consider if your civilization would be able to figure this out, or if they would act without knowing this history. Finally, as there are 52 weeks in a year (cards in a deck), and 4 suits (seasons), you do move through each shuffled suit fully before going to the next season (aka rotation).

and worst case, my games are built to be flexible. So, house rules are always encouraged!

Keep on miscommunicating, and thanks for playing!
