I tried it on a minor level with a game called citadel Unchained. Just got too glitchy. I failed miserably. Very difficult to pull off an open world type game with freedom like that. I am working on a game at the moment with a central village hub that allows you to progress further and further into dungeons with a few fetch quests around the town and optional treasure hunting etc. It's got no crafting or farming type aspects though but has loads of NPCs and aside from a few progression items it's all optional. Runs in win 98 so it's all fairly low poly and could run on a calculator these days I guess. I'll have it finished soon
