Judging by the other comments, I'm probably one of the few people that did not really find this game fun :( I found it to be very repetitive. There's no player choice in exploration because there's only one way to advance. And the combat is only interesting when you encounter a new enemy, after that it's just repetitive. So during the whole playthrough there were 4 moments in total where I had to figure out how beat a new enemy, and the rest of the game was just filler with no player agency.

However, it does look and sound nice! I just didn't find the gameplay engaging at all :(

Fair analysis, I think you hit on the major problems in the current game design. For this jam we were focused mostly on exploring a unique graphical style and exploring a new combat system which we could hopefully improve post jam. We basically cut everything else out and focused on polishing that.

We will need to explore ways to improve the feeling of depth and agency in our game in the future.
