Aww! I'm so glad! I love Reuben as a character and am really happy others love him too. . (〜￣▽￣)〜
As far as writing goes, I've just trained myself to write in a particular way using a variety of strategies. It's really the only way I get anything done. LoL There's nothing wrong with writing at a slower pace though.
The important thing is just to do what works for you!
