After I knew how to play it wasn't bad, it was definitely engaging to craft pickaxes and fires to climb and survive the mountain climb. I just now noticed you put a lot of the explanations in a comment on the game page but it's probably better to add them to the game page itself, you can still update the page during the rating period.
What confused me at first was that I thought the pickaxes were for destroying trees and rocks because the animation for destroying things uses the same pickaxe you can craft. It confused me because I didn't realize what the pickaxe was for, I didn't realize I needed it to climb. I assume the pickaxe that needs stone is more durable but there is no indication of what the difference between them is. Maybe more info about that would help, you could add it in the game's page.
Setting up a campfire usually required me to click multiple times with the right mouse button while moving for it to work, it didn't work from the first click.
As you said, you had to rush at the end so things were left unfinished in the end which is understandable for a game jam. The game does have its merits and even now, in its unfinished state, has fun elements so well done! :)
