but when your used to running faster or shooting faster, its annoying

I just really don't like melee.  Its low TTK and speed boost annoys me as I cannot strafe and run at the same time.  I mean I guess it makes it harder to solo a group of three, but I also don't like dying because someone looked at me with a longsword from a room over.  Also, removing melee weapons makes the runner the only "fast class".
