I just had to play it once I've seen it's a horsedev game.

Controls are ok-ish, decent for atmospheric exploration game, not yet there for an action game. Delayed jump didn't bother me as much as it should. Not being able to attack from sprint sucks, at first I didn't even know you can attack at all. I like the commitment on attacks, but that might be taking it too far, since attack animation combined with stun from enemy attacks and the level design will often result in sliding off platform to your death (but maybe that's what you are going for). Attack animations don't feel natural nor elegant, but the jump attacks are cool nevertheless. I would complain about context sensitive actions, but I can't see shit in this game in the first place, so having an indicator to press a key is a must so far.

After my first death I forgot to pick up the key at the start and I think I'm stuck in a loop not being able to progress.

The UIs are really cool, and I like the subtle camera zoom transition while entering rooms as it gives it a unique feeling. The atmosphere and art stand out the most, it makes me want to play a game with the same feel to it while exploring but without the anime-like fighting.

hehehehe we got a return customer!

thanks so much for playing and giving the feedback, it helps me out a ton! next update will have dash attacks, improved ui, and more functional menus

the key at the beginning is not essential for progress, it just unlocks a door to a test chamber at the end of the demo where you can fight enemies and play with power baubles and modules. its a scene where I do a lot debugging and testing. but if you made it into the mines you've been through everything so far.
