It's a really cool prototype you have there! Maybe try to build something on top of that? More visuals, power ups etc. As @dardasaba mentioned it could be a cool party game.
Yeah, this game has some potential, there are plenty of way to improve it. Various enemy behavior, various level up skill, sounds, visual fx, local multiplayer... a lot of ideas I keep for later maybe.
