The concept and lore was pretty great, although the colorful look of the race track and cars didn't really fit the apocalyptic/dystopian theme as well. If it were me I would have set it at night, put debris props everywhere and made the cars look a bit more futuristic, as well as maybe changing all the red spikes to purple. The racing mechanics were really solid, although I did find it a bit frustrating whenever my car randomly started going backwards for no reason with the death cloud right behind me (I guess death is truly inevitable in that case)

I do really love the concept of a dystopian racing game set in an apocalyptic world with this evil death entity chasing you, and I do recommend that jump into taking this concept and making it into a full on 3rd person racing game outside of a game jam, because there are so many cool things you could do with this! This idea is very creative and could make a very unique and fun gaming experience, especially in a genre where all the other titles are more focused on realism. :)

I hope that "not being able to go forward" was due to you succesfully hitting the spider webs that slow you down. The rest I all agree with, lots of customization details were on the to do list but sadly did not make it in time.
