I think solarpunk has nothing to do with another trendy aesthetic, though I'm aware it could be removed from its substance like every artistic movement (capitalist culture is very strong at that, by the way). Anyway, I'm glad you're on board to create something inspiring ! :)
I already sent you a podcast about tech investors who felt in love with the "Solarpunk spirit". So we won't have to wait long until we see greenwashing moves with a Solarpunk Aesthetic.
Anyway it could also be a way to imagine different societies or way to live in the futur. So, unlike the Steampunk, it can be more than just an aethetic.
