right click your game.exe -> properties -> compability and put it on win7 and run the game again. Try this maybe? Or see if you have antivirus or anti malware programmes blocking it.
Hey, hope you've been doing well. I finally managed to get the game working. Seems like my antivirus was being overzealous, and getting it to trust the .exe files solved the issue.
