As is WaffleExploder, am worried I'm missing something. The game seems pretty functional, but the furthest I can get into it is a little bit into the second area. I'm not sure if there's a random element in the game or some trick to winning fights that I am missing, but I feel like I'm hitting a wall and just losing, and also don't feel comfortable providing a numeric rating where I'm at in the game--sorry about that!

The main feedback I would give is that the levels so far seem a bit mazey, and while you may have intended players to get a little lost, it can make things feel like a bit of a slog combined with the difficulty of the fights to scroll into a dead end or a monster you can't beat yet. It would probably be better to consider a less mazey layout or a way to more easily see such things coming--for example, you might zoom out on the maps a bit so players can more easily see when they're headed for a dead end, or an enemy they can't beat yet.
