I liked the skiing more than the exploration/platformer. Made me think of the good old days paying SkiFree on my first computer.
For the exploration bit, I'd maybe flip the sprite when you change directions? Just felt kind stuff watching the dude move around.
For the skiing, maybe make it less random and use some code to help prevent impassable sections of trees/stumps. It's fine for it to be challenging, but on multiple occasions I ran into what was essentially a dead-end that I couldn't have gotten out of even if the yeti wasn't right on my heels.
