I added instructions but they only show up on the game page apparently. I'll add them here again:

Download the .unityPackage file
Create a new 2d Core project in Unity
Import the .unityPackage file via Assets -> Import Package -> Custom Package

Good luck on taking the project further. I'll check out the mentioned projects tomorrow :)
