The app is available on app lab now.

Demo version: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/6110153429114216/?store=quest&item_id=6...

You can login to your Meta account and purchase from those links. Or you can search for "HereSphere VR Video Player" or "HereSphere VR Video Player Demo" in the Meta store on your headset, scroll all the way down, expand "App Lab" entry if necessary, and then HereSphere should be listed.

Hi, sorry to bother you, but after not updating for a while I just bought the player through itch.io

Now I found out there is an official version on the way / in Applab.

Are there any differences between the itch/meta editions and will I eventually be able to use the official version without a second purchase?

They're pretty much the same, except the itch.io version has support for bluetooth synchronized peripherals. App lab version automatically updates. If you want an app lab key, just email support@heresphere.com from the email you used to purchase the app from itch.io.

Thanks for clarifying!

Hi, would it make sense to still buy heresphere from itch to get the apk with the BT features and then get the applab key by email rather than buying from meta store?

Edit: I mean I'm fine with the apk and guess I'd prefer that if it has more features, but I'd just like to have access to both versions in case meta some time in future makes having developer enabled headset for installing external apks more difficult to use than it is today. in other words, after buying from meta store can we get the itch apk as well?

I'd recommend purchasing from itch.io and then requesting an app lab key. I can't verify purchases made from the Meta store, since Meta doesn't provide user purchase info.
