is my understanding correct? every time you release new version, we have to buy the game again, and pay MORE money, so if v2.1 costs $30, then v2.2 will cost ANOTHER $30?!

is there a benefit to buying the itch.io version now then buying later at the increased price of the game?

Er, if you mean Patreon, it's meant to support the development. You do get the new builds earlier, but every version will eventually go public.

On Itch you only have to pay once to get the new versions earlier than most people, but a bit later than the Patreon supporters.
