Not a tech support guy, but that sounds like a spike on your end. Also, if there are speaking reactions to that act, hit space, not back.
i'm unsure what you mean about clicking space - that progresses things forwards, not back, at least on my device. going forwards just gets me to the same screen that i can't do anything on
