Hmm, there are good ideas here, but they're somewhat haphazard.

The fact that the game progresses while you're on the title screen is a bit confusing, especially when you die before starting the game.

The biggest problem is the random, unforeseeable monster spawns. If monster spawns were telegraphed, it'd be more compelling to move the character. As it is, the least effort strategy is to move to a corner, squish the walls all the way in, and then gamble on an enemy not spawning on top of you.

The art is cute!
