Hey, thanks for the shout out!

Itch.io does have many ways for developers and fans to advertise and talk about projects, but it would be nice if there were an active thread to help developers connect to YouTubers and Streamers. As a YouTuber, I'd like to know a few key things before I make a video about a game, and a forum thread could facilitate a discussion between YouTubers, Streamers, and developers. For example, the following questions could be important before a YouTuber creates a playthrough video of a game or a Streamer plays a game on Twitch:

  • Does the developer even want playthrough videos made of their games?
  • Does the developer only want the first part of the game shown in videos, or is it cool if a YouTuber shows the entire game (This is important for games with twist endings)?
  • What is the best way for YouTubers to send their audience to the developer (Some developers on itch.io have their own websites)?
  • Are there any scenes in the game that could get a Streamer banned on Twitch?

They had a system to connect developers and "influencers". It was abandoned, because people just used it to download paid stuff for free. There are still traces of that system.

But still, for some games, a little info easily reachable on the game description with those press kit infos would be nice.

They could add a searchable metadata thingy, so interested streamers could easily filter the developers that made the effort to include such press kit infos.

I am talking about the filter stuff that are in the left side of browse, where you can add useless stuff like input method and session length.

Some of those filters are even undocumented. I know there is the filter "released" and "in-development", but I do not know where the button in browse is, to add that filter.
